3 Things You Won't Hear Me Say In A Postnatal Fitness Session

Want to know what you won't ever catch me saying when I'm working with a postpartum client?
❌’Bounce back’
❌You’re not working hard enough
❌Leaking is normal, just deal with it
And here’s why...
Bouncing back:
This toxic phrase creates pressure and unrealistic expectations while completely undermining everything you’ve just gone through and are dealing with postpartum. What’s important is healing and caring for your body, and moving forward in a way that supports you– and baby!
Working hard enough:
I know that with a new baby, you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, healing and adjusting to a new lifestyle which means you might have to stop and rest or take things easy in a workout. You know your body best and, while I’ll always encourage you to challenge yourself when you can, you get to decide what’s best for you.
Leaking:
Leaking is common, but not normal, and it’s something that should be addressed when (or before!) it happens. Nothing is TMI when we’re working together, so if you get a leak on my watch, I wanna know about it so we can make a plan to make things better!
If you’re with me on avoiding these phrases at all costs, I'd love to work with you and help you get the support and strength you deserve in your postnatal era!
